2011 Election Results Announced

The 2011 election came to an end on Tuesday October 18th.  Seventy-four chapter members completed their online ballots to elect a President-Elect, a Secretary-Treasurer, and 3 Directors at Large.

A three person committee tallied the votes and yielded the following results:

  • Heidi Faison, Outreach Director at the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research (PEER)
    Center, was elected to the position of President-Elect to sever a one year term, followed by a two year term as President, and a one year term as Past-President.
  • Marko Schotanus, Senior Engineer with Rutherford & Chekene Structural and Geotechnical Engineers, was elected to the position of Secretary-Treasurer to serve a two year term.
  • Laurence Kornfield, former Chief Building Inspector in San Francisco, was elected to the position of Director at-large to serve a two year term.
  • Danielle Hutchings, Earthquake and Hazards Program Coordinator for the Association of
    Bay Area Governments, was elected to the position of Director at-large to serve a two year term.
  • Laura Samant, independent consultant focused on earthquake risk reduction, was elected to the position of Director at-large to serve a two year term.

Congratulations to new board members and thank you to out-going directors Chris Barkley, Justin Moresco, and Tom Tobin for their tenure of service to the Chapter.  Also the board would like to thank the ballot counting members, all candidates on the election slate, and all voting chapter members!

October Chapter Meeting

Please join the chapter for an presentation and discussion about site-specific hazard analysis. Dr. Ramin Golesorkhi will compare site-specific hazard analysis with code suggested seismic design parameters, and discuss the latest changes in ASCE7-10/CBC 2010.

Also at this meeting the results of the 2011 EERI NC Election will be announced.

Time: 5:30-7:30pm
Where: CHANGED VENUE!!!! The new venue is 1 Montgomery Street, in the One Montgomery Tower adjacent to the Crocker Galleria on Post between Kearny and Montgomery. (There is also an entrance to the building lobby at 120 Kearny Street.) Visitors much check in at the security desk for access to the URS suite on the 9th floor.
