Seeking Volunteers for Albany Inventory Day on June 8

An effort is underway by EERI NC Chapter members to help the City of Albany better understand its hazard, vulnerabilities and risks in future earthquakes, then to support them in any mitigation efforts the choose to enact. To support this effort, an Albany working group has been preparing a walking survey to inventory the city’s building stock on June 8, 2013 and is looking for volunteers to participate in the survey.

The screening will utilize the FEMA 154 “Rapid Visual Screening of Buildings for Potential Seismic Hazards” survey using both paper and web-based forms (utilizing on ROVER). Please use the form below to register your interest in participating on June 8th and/or on other tasks related to this effort. Interested parties will be sent a follow-up email with more details as the survey approaches.

Once the inventory is complete the data will be used to inform a Albany-specific HAZUS run for the City of Albany, then a summary report will be prepared to present the findings to the Albany.
