April 11 – Legislative Panel & Student Mixer Event

Join us on April 11th for our first event of 2019, a panel discussion about the recent legislative efforts by EERI and SEAOC to mitigate earthquake risk in our home state. This event is also our annual mixer with local student chapters.

The panel will feature three of our local experts:

  • Danielle Mieler of the EERI California Public Policy Subcommittee
  • Kevin Moore of the SEAOC State Legislative Committee
  • Zahraa Saiyed of the EERI National Public Policy Committee

This panel will tap into the excitement around public policy action for earthquake risk mitigation, which was a common theme of discussion at the EERI Annual Meeting in March. The event will give our members an opportunity to become more informed about these matters affecting our communities and professional lives. You will also be able to share your perspective about what role you would like our EERI-NC chapter to play.

Before the panel, there will be a one-hour mixer with members of our local student chapters. They recently participated in the Student Design Competition at the Annual Meeting and are excited to share about their experience! Please join us in congratulating them on all of their hard work this year. Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
